I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as well as the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I am also a supervisor and a member of the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS). In my private practice I work with adult individuals and couples as well as trainee Psychologists.

I completed my Doctoral training in 2013 and since then I have worked for the NHS primary care sector as well as in private practice. I have also held a position of a visiting lecturer at the City University of London where I facilitated Personal and Professional Development Groups as well as assisted with marking assignments. Before completing my Doctoral training, I  worked as a Counsellor for an EAP programme as well as various different helplines supporting individuals in crisis.

Through my training I have become proficient in using several different therapeutic approaches to help me understand your difficulties:

·       Psychodynamic theory (my main theoretical approach)

·       Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

·       Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

·       Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

·       Person Cantered Therapy

·       Existential Therapy

·       Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

I am continuously working on my professional development by regularly attending workshops and training courses as well as engaging with topic appropriate literature.

My knowledge and expertise in a variety of therapeutic models helps me to understand your difficulties. During your initial session, I will share my understanding of your struggles and how we might be able to work through them together. It will then be up to you to decide if you would like to pursue working with me.

It may be that you have become dissatisfied with your life over a period of time, or perhaps something specific has happened, which you find difficult to manage, understand or process. There could also be a traumatic past which you are struggling with or a more recent issue that you need help with. Many people struggle with adjusting to change in the ever evolving world. Perhaps what you need is to learn how to slow down and take stock of what is in front of you.

My work with you can cover a wide range of topics from anxiety, low mood, bereavement, work stress, relationship issues, issues around fertility, issues surrounding being or becoming a parent to past or present trauma. This is just to name a few. Please feel free to get in touch with me prior to booking a session if you would like to discuss something that has not been covered here.

What can you expect to happen during appointments.

It can be very daunting and anxiety provoking to make contact with a mental health professional. It is not unusual to have second thoughts or feel scared of what is about to happen. It is my job to put you at ease and make sure that you feel safe.

During our initial meeting, I will be curious to know about what prompted you to reach out for support. I might ask you about some of your past experiences and relationships as well as what has been happening more recently. This is to shed light on any emerging patterns of behaviour which might be troubling you or getting in the way of living a more fulfilled life. Towards the end of the appointment, we will agree if our work will be open ended or if there is a limit to the sessions which you will attend. I will also try to answer any questions that you may have. Many individuals choose to meet with more than one therapist before making a decision about who they would like to see longer term. This is very much expected and I will not feel offended if you need time to think about what is best for you.

Sessions last 50 minutes, unless agreed otherwise. Whenever possible, we will find a regular time and day that works for us both. I see my patients weekly. I also offer free initial telephone consultations. These typically last 10-15 minutes and can be a helpful way to find out a little bit about me and how I work or maybe for us to find a mutually convenient time to meet.

I accept referrals from BUPA, AXA, CIGNA and WPA.

I work from home in Ewell West. My Therapy Room is situated at the back of the house, at the very rear of the garden for additional privacy. I am about 10 minutes walk away from Ewell West station making it easy to reach for many commuting to and from London.
