I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered and accredited with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a qualified supervisor and a member of the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS). In addition, I am an EMDR therapist and a member of the EMDR UK Association.
In my private practice, I offer therapy to adults and couples, as well as supervision for trainee psychologists. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
I completed my Doctoral training in 2013 and since then I have worked for the NHS primary care sector as well as in private practice. I have also held a position of a visiting lecturer at the City University of London where I facilitated Personal and Professional Development Groups as well as assisted with marking assignments. Before completing my Doctoral training, I worked as a Counsellor for an EAP programme as well as various different helplines supporting individuals in crisis.
Through my training I have become proficient in using several different therapeutic approaches to help me understand your difficulties:
· Psychodynamic theory (my main theoretical approach)
· Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
· Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
· Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
· Person Cantered Therapy
· Existential Therapy
· Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attend workshops, training courses, and engage with current psychological literature to deepen my knowledge and enhance my practice.
My expertise in a range of therapeutic models allows me to understand and adapt to your individual needs. During our initial session, I will share my understanding of your difficulties and outline how we might work through them together. You can then decide whether you feel comfortable continuing our work.
You may have been feeling dissatisfied with life for some time, or perhaps a specific event has left you struggling to cope, understand, or move forward. It might be that past trauma still affects you, or that a recent change has been difficult to adjust to. Many people find it challenging to keep up with the fast pace of modern life and may simply need space to slow down and reflect on what truly matters.
Our work together can address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, bereavement, work-related stress, relationship difficulties, fertility challenges, experiences around parenthood, and past or present trauma, among others. If you’re unsure whether I can support you with a particular concern, please feel free to get in touch before booking a session — I’ll be happy to discuss your needs.
What can you expect to happen during appointments.
Reaching out to a mental health professional can feel daunting and may bring up feelings of anxiety or uncertainty. It’s completely natural to have second thoughts or feel nervous about what to expect. My priority is to help you feel at ease and create a safe, supportive space from the very beginning.
During our initial meeting, I’ll be curious to learn what has led you to seek support at this time. I may ask about your past experiences and relationships, as well as what has been happening more recently. This helps us identify patterns or themes that may be causing distress or preventing you from living a more fulfilling life. Towards the end of our first session, we can discuss whether our work together will be open-ended or time-limited, and I’ll answer any questions you might have.
It’s quite common for people to meet with more than one therapist before deciding who feels like the best fit — this is completely understandable, and you are welcome to take the time you need to make that decision.
Sessions last 50 minutes, unless otherwise agreed. Whenever possible, we’ll arrange a regular day and time that suits us both, and I typically meet with clients weekly. I also offer a free initial telephone consultation (10–15 minutes), which can be a helpful way to learn a bit more about me and how I work, or to find a mutually convenient time for our first session.
I am an approved provider with BUPA, AXA, Cigna, and WPA, and I accept referrals from these insurers.
I work from home in Ewell West. My Therapy Room is situated at the back of the house, at the very rear of the garden for additional privacy. I am about 10 minutes walk away from Ewell West station making it easy to reach for many commuting to and from London.
